Van Heath has been with Speros since 2011 and is the Director of Operations. He is responsible for the day to day operations of the Speros Operations Department. This includes spearheading the Speros Cloud, technical engineering, customer relations, continuing technical training, process development and execution, and researching and implementing many internal development projects.
Originally from a small town just outside of Statesboro, Georgia, Van graduated within the top of his class from Ogeechee Technical College with an associate degree in Computer Information Systems with a primary focus in Microsoft Windows Server. He continued his education since, graduating from DeVry University with a BS in Computer Information Systems with an emphasis in project management, and a minor in IBM Enterprise Systems.
Van holds several industry certifications, including the Sonicwall Advanced Security Network Administration and Adtran Technical Solutions Professional certifications. He is currently working to advance his business development skills with the focus to complete a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus in IT Management from Georgia Southern University.
He is an active member of the Ogeechee Technical College CIST Advisory Committee, a consortium of several regional business leaders, as well as lead instructors from both Ogeechee Technical College and Georgia Southern University. The committee meets twice per year to discuss and recommend an appropriate curriculum for the coming semesters, ensuring the next generation of graduates are fully ready for the workforce. They also meet to discuss goals for facility improvement and lab changes to ensure appropriate student learning.
